AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open - Day 1 highlights

07 May - 10 May 2015

We've put together the best facts and figures from the opening day at Heritage Golf Resort in Mauritius..

65 - Low score of the day from Thorbjørn Olesen, Carlos Pigem and Jeunghun Wang.
90 - Days since Olesen last hit a shot on The European Tour at the Maybank Malaysian Open in early February.
18 - The number of strokes over par Olesen was for his last five rounds, as he struggled with a hand injury.
2 - Bogey free rounds today: a 65 from Jeunghun Wang and a 68 from Mikael Lundberg.
29 - Consecutive cuts made by Wang entering the week, who plays the majority of his golf on The Asian Tour.
30 - Different countries represented at the very first AfrAsia Mauritius Open. 10 different countries make up the top 14 players on the leaderboard at the end of round one.
54.5 - Percent of Fantasy Race To Dubai teams have George Coetzee in their team this week, more than any other player. The South African opened with a one under par round of 70, despite making five birdies in eight holes from the sixth hole.
14 - One putts for Pedro Oriol who shot 70 despite having hit just five greens in regulation.
71.73 - The average score today on the par 71 layout. Of the 132 players in the field 45 broke par.
80 - Hennie Otto's opening round score, despite two birdies and an eagle. The South African, who is struggling with a back injury, was one of only three players who failed to break 80 on Day 1.
4 - Years to the day since Seve Ballesteros passed away. The Spaniard's 50 European Tour titles remain the most won by any player.
